The company Mainport from Echt, the Netherlands, a specialist in videoconferencing received a important certificate this week. The Chinese multinational Huawei, with 30 billion in revenue, the biggest telecommanufacturer of the world, awarded the Dutch company with the title Certified Service Provider (CSP). Mainport is the first certified company in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg (BeNeLux). The title of CSP is assigned to partners who possess specialistic knowledge and good trained workers. That global player Huawei has opted for the 'small' MainPort may be called remarkable.
New is videoconferencing not at all. Several major companies are doing it for years now. But it was (technically) still often not worth it: it could be done better, so MainPort contacted Huawei last year. Huawei is a company that is bigger than Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia Siemens. It delivers the 3G network of T-Mobile, Vodafone and KPN in the Netherlands using their equipment. MainPort is currently in the process of deploying videoconferencing in the provence of Limburg and the rest of the country. One of the first companies where we installed the system in-house, Van der Valk Hotel Heerlen put videoconferencing for entrepreneurs in the market. Freek van der Valk: "You have take new opportunities. According to me, this is one." (www.mainport.nl)
